Modifications to Floodway Bulkheads | Locks and Dam #2, Monongahela River | This project included electrical refurbishment, concrete removal and repairs, sandblasting, lead abatement, painting of bulkheads and the control structure, replace seals on bulkheads, steel modifications to bulkhead structure including replacement of all cables and guide rollers, and alignment of bulkhead rails. We used a marine plant to remove and transport the bulkheads and control structure to our work area and to reinstall the units after refurbishment. |

Paint Service Gates and Liners | Council Grove Lake Dam, KS | This project consisted of blast cleaning and painting two service gates, one emergency gate, and two conduit liners. Including replacing the service and emergency gate seals and anodes. The water leakage in the conduit had to be controlled by installing temporary dams and pumps. The roller chain guards, roller chains, and sheaves were dismantled prior to painting. |
Sluice Gate Painting and Rehabilitation of Seals | Fort Gibson Dam, OK | This project consisted of lead abatement and painting of the sluice gates and conduit liners. Replacing the brass seals on the gate and in the gate frame. Field machining the bottom of the sluice gates. Performing Babbitt repair and field machining of the Babbitt for the bottom seal in the gate frame. The gate cylinders and bonnets had to be disassembled in order to remove the gate from the conduit for repair. |

Rehabilitation of Service Intake Gates | Wister Lake Dam, Ok | This project consisted of replacing the bottom brass gate seal in the conduit gate frame. The seal was bolted in horizontally and had to be sawed out in pieces. The new seal was drilled and tapped into the conduit lining in the vertical position. Dams had to be installed on both sides of the seal and pumps were set up on the upstream side. One low flow valve along with associated piping, supports, and grating were replaced. The gates were painted and weld repairs were performed. |

Repair of Tainter Gate Seal Plates and Eroded Concrete Surfaces | W.D. Mayo Lock and Dam No. 14, OK | This project consisted of replacing the tainter gate seal plate that is embedded in the concrete weir below the tainter gate, replacing the eroded concrete on the gate weir, installing a seal on the bottom of the gate, painting the bottom 3-foot of the gate, installing upstream stop logs, engineering, fabricating, and installing downstream stop logs. |
Tainter Gate Repair | Waterbury Dam, VT | This project consisted of replacing the embedded side seal plates on one tainter gate and replacing the side seals and gate side guide rollers on three tainter gates. This included jack hammering out the embedded seal plates, installing the new seal plates, engineering and installing formwork and placing concrete in the forms. |

Replace Tainter Gate Flat Wire Rope | Tenkiller Lake Dam, OK | This project consisted of replacement of flat wire rope and connecting pins on ten tainter gates, two wire ropes per gate. The existing wire rope pins were removed by torch cutting and jacking. The new wire ropes were installed, synchronized, test operated, and the limit switches were re-set. |

This included setting a bulkhead, dewatering, removal of the hydraulic operating cylinder and bonnet cover, removal of the existing sluice gate, gate seats, babbitt seal, and sill assemble. Removal and replacement of two gate frame cavitation plates. Blast cleaning and painting the inside of the bonnet and bonnet cover. Reinstallation of a new sill assembly including a babbitt seal and field machining the babbitt seal. Installation of new gate seats, new gate, and existing gate operating cylinder. Blast cleaning and painting two low flow valves. Handrail modification and trench cover fabrication and installation. |

Replace Tainter Gate Chains | Hulah Lake Dam, OK | This project consisted of replacing gate operating chains on 10 tainter gates and replacing the brakes on 10 tainter gate drive assemblies and fully refurbishing 2 tainter gate brake assemblies. This included traffic control, crane placement plan on the dam bridge, fabricating new tainter gate chains, installing the new chains, synchronizing the gates, and setting limit switches. |
Replace Low Flow Valve | Ft Supply Lake Dam, OK | This project consisted of replacing one low flow butterfly valve with a knife valve. This included using divers to install a rubber plug in the upstream side of the low flow pipe, installing a new knife valve along with new pipe spool sections, and electrical hookups. We also replaced the gantry crane lifting hook. |

Oklahoma Area Maintenance Projects | Webber Falls L&D #16, Webber Falls Powerhouse, R.S. Kerr L&D #15, & Broken Bow Lake, OK | This project consisted of rehabilitating the lock tainter valves at L&D #15 & #16, painting transformer equipment at Webber Falls Powerhouse, and rehabilitating the service bridge and removal of trash rack debris at Broken Bow Lake. The tainter valve repair consisted of setting bulkheads, dewatering, removal of the valves, blast cleaning, steel repair, painting, cathodic protection, new J-bulb seals, reinstallation of the valves, and testing. The broken bow service bridge work included, scaffolding, cleaning and painting service bridge, provide and install expansion joint gutters and scupper extensions, scarify top of bridge deck, and treat concrete with penetrating water repellent. The trash rack debris removal consisted of using divers to remove the debris, load it on a work boat, and burn the wood debris. |

Including setting bulkheads, water control, removing the existing wire ropes, replacing with Government supplied wire ropes, adjusting the tension, and setting the limit switches. |
Replace Service and Emergency Gates | Pine Creek Lake, OK | This project consisted of replacing two service gates and two emergency gates. This included furnishing new service and emergency gates, furnishing new gate stems, removal of the gate hydraulic operating system, removal of gates, replacement of gate frame seals, installation of new gates, installing the new gate systems, and reinstalling the existing hydraulic operating system. We also replaced the air vent grading and repaired the conduit hatch covers. |
Gate Stem Replacement | Jennings Randolph Lake, WV | This project consisted of rebuilding two service gate and two emergency gate hydraulic operating cylinders and refurbishing two low flow valves and rebuilding the cylinders. This included setting a bulkhead, dewatering, engineering and installing a gate support system, cylinder removal, refurbishment, and reinstallation. Rebuilding the cylinders including new stem shafts, bushings, piston rings, boring out the cylinders, and new seals and packing. |

Replace Tainter Gate Chains | Norfork Dam, AR | This was a design build project to replace the (12) tainter gate operating chains with a wire rope operating system. This included removal of the existing operating chains, chain sprockets, and chain attachment lugs to the gate. Installing new wire rope sheaves, new gate hitch blocks, and new wire ropes. Tensioning the wire ropes and setting the limit switches. Blast cleaning and painting the new hitch block assemblies. |

Replace Bascular Gate Seals | Dickinson Dam, ND | This project consisted of replacing the 200’-8” long bottom seal on one bascular gate and the two 4’ long side seals. |
Replace Stem and Repair Stem Guide on Gate #3 | Mississinew Lake, Peru, IN | This project consisted of replacing gate operating stems and bushings on gate no. 3 and replacing access ladders in two gate wells. |
Replace Gate Chamber Ladders and Landings | Heart Butte Dam, ND | This project consisted of replacing the fabricating new ladders and landings, providing traffic control, removing the existing ladders and landings, and installing new ladders and landings. |
Rehab Outlet Works Regulating Gates Number 5 & 6 | Oahe Dam, SD | This project consisted of removing two hydraulically operated Outlet Work gates from the gate slots, rehabilitating them on site, reinstalling them back in the slots, reinstalling the hydraulic operator system, and conducting leak testing. Rehabilitation of the gates included blasting and painting by a QP-1 and QP-2 certified painting subcontractor, use of a Class I containment system for abrasive blasting, removal and refurbishment of all gate wheels, installation of new gate seals, CWI inspection of the gates along with completion of identified weld repairs, and replacement of the rod anodes and anode supports. Painting of the Outlet Works conduit liners was also included in this project. This required setting an emergency gate, water control in the conduit, and blasting and painting of the liner. |
Replace 2 Flood Gates & Rehabilitate Frame Liners | Lake Texoma – Denison Dam, TX | This project was a design build project to design and install two new service gates, install new gate frame steel liners, rehabilitate conduit liners, patch concrete in stilling basin downstream of splitter wall, and paint repair on three gates. |
Denison Powerhouse Crane – Gearbox Rehabilitation | Lake Texoma – Denison Dam, TX | This project consisted of removing, rebuilding, and reinstalling 7 gearboxes on the powerhouse 225 – ton bridge crane. This included precision laser alignment, dynamic balancing of the hoist motors, gear oil replacement, and gear alignment. |
Miscellaneous Improvements Project | Morris Sheppard Dam, TX | This project involved removal and replacement of piping and valves that operate the bear trap style flow control gates at the dam. It also included construction of a new access stairway as well as railing replacement and electrical upgrades. The project required a coordinated water supply shutdown with the downstream fish hatchery. |
Penstock Expansion Joint Packing Replacement | Pole Hill Penstock, CO | This project involved removal and replacement of expansion joint packing on a 96″ diameter penstock on a steep mountainside. |
Replace Discharge Valves | Iron Bridge Dam, TX | This project involved removal and replacement of two 20″ butterfly valves with 20″ motor actuated knife gate valves and associated piping. Since the valves control water supply flow to downstream communities the work needed to be performed at night within a limited time shutdown window. |
Replace Flood Gate 16 and Emergency Gate | Lake Texoma – Denison Dam, TX | This project was a design build project to design and construction of flood gate No. 16, gate frame liner from floor elevation to two feet above conduit head height, emergency gate, dogging devices for service gates 7 – 10, movable work platform, replace form plate, repair concrete surfaces, and all appurtenances. |
