When Ford Motor Company transitioned the F Series pickup trucks to an aluminum body style it became necessary to retool their three main truck plants. Alltech Engineering was contracted to install FANUC paint robots at Ford’s Kentucky, Dearborn, and Kansas City Truck Assembly Plants as part of this retooling. These multi-phase projects took place during plant shutdowns over a five year period.

Alltech’s scope for these projects included design, engineering, fabrication and erection of the robot support steel, design and fabrication of custom transport and rigging systems, removal of existing automation, and installation of the new FANUC robots. All phases of these projects were completed on time or ahead of schedule. This allowed more time to complete startup activities and enabled plant production to resume as scheduled.
